We are now 3/4’s of our way through the Toastmasters year. Membership renewals should have now been paid, Division Contests are in progress and there are a wide variety of awards being registered for both the traditional and Pathways programmes.

Having recently returned from Mid-Year Training, Club Growth Director Sharon, Programme Quality Director Neil and I have picked up a lot of information that we will be using to guide us throughout the balance of our current Toastmasters year…
Toastmasters is a global organisation divided into well over 100 districts which are split into 14 regions. New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei are known as region 12. Communication and leadership are learned in a warm and supportive environment in around 1,800 clubs, comprised of over 45,000 members, throughout the region.
I am writing this update on 2nd December 2018, with the festive season almost upon us, and as the majority of clubs take a break over the Christmas New Year period; I encourage you to take time to rest, relax and rejuvenate for the 2019 year. Since the launch of the 2019 conference in May this year at Waipuna in Auckland, your organising team has been hard at work. We are focussed on the details, making this occasion a memorable first conference for District 112 that is affordable to all.

We are now through the first quarter of our Toastmasters year. Gosh, where has the time gone?
At the end of September the majority of our 163 clubs had paid their subs to Toastmasters International. Thank you! Doing this enables not only your members to actively continue with Pathways but also the Club Officers to maintain access to Club Central for conducting club business.
Sometimes we receive requests to provide members to work with other organisations. In a recent example, Radio NZ asked us to participate in Jim Mora’s panel discussion on national radio.
